Nick has been playing tennis since he was 8 years old.   Hard work and passion for tennis earned him a NCAA Div 1 tennis scholarship to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Half way through his freshman year of college he was diagnosed with Leukemia. In May of 1994 he underwent a bone-marrow transplant at Baylor Medical Center and the doctors pronounced him cured. Nick immediately got into the tennis business to help him fund the rest of college.

Nick’s first Assistant Professional positions were held at Tulsa Tennis Club, Texarkana Country Club, Gleneagles Country Club and finally Northwood Club while in College. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a specialized degree in Club Management.

After college graduation, Nick was promoted to Junior Academy Director at Northwood Club where he hired a staff and oversaw all programming responsibilities.  Nick was chosen to represent the USTA Texas section as a National Zonals Coach for four consecutive years.  In the 7 years under Nick’s leadership, Northwood Club’s programming set numerous records for growth and increased membership.

Nick was hired as the Director of Tennis at Lakes Tennis Academy in July of 2004.  Shortly after his hire he was promoted to Academy Director/General Manager.  In December of 2005 he received the “Facility Manager of the Year” award from the USPTA Texas Section for the massive amount of growth the facility experienced shortly after his arrival.  In May 2006 he was recognized as the “Facility Manager of the Year” for the United States.   Nick is a USPTA P-1 Professional and currently sits on the Dallas Professional Tennis Association Board of Directors.

In January 2007, Nick became the sole owner of Lakes Tennis Academy.  Nick is very passionate about ongoing efforts to make Lakes the very best facility in the area. Nick and his wife Salina live in Frisco with their three children Blake, Callie and Addison.
