Dave LickerHigh Performance Academy DirectorDave is a USPTA P1 Pro, USTA High Performance Graduate, and USTA Certified in Competitive Player Development. He was the Director of Junior Development for Fretz Tennis Center from '99-'04, was the Director of High Performance for the T Bar M Tennis Academy from ‘04-’11.
Dave was the lead national coach for USA Junior Boys at the 2011 Jr French Open and Jr Wimbledon and has coached multiple top 50 ITF ranked juniors. Savannah Broadus won the 2019 Jr Wimbledon Doubles Championships, another player made it to the semifinals of singles in both the Jr French and Jr Wimbledon championships. Dave is the current coach of Mitchell Krueger who’s top ranking has been #159 ATP after he won the 2019 Dallas Challenger in singles. His top win of 2020 was Taylor Fritz who was ranked #34 ATP at the time. Dave is also the current coach of Gabriella Talaba who’s top ranking is #227 WTA as she has won a few 25k pro events and semifinals 2 100K events in 2020. Her top win was Danielle Collins (#31 WTA). Dave was the USPTA Texas Tour Coach of the Year in '07, and the USPTA National Tour Coach of the Year in ‘09. Under Dave, Lakes Tennis Academy won the 2019 USTA National Academy of the year award presented by USTA Player Development, became an Adidas National Academy and a Wilson National Academy. Dave has worked with multiple players who have won ATP and WTA Challenger events, Division 1 scholarships, Eddie Herr and Orange Bowl Championships, ITF jr titles at every level, gold, silver, and bronze balls for USTA Super National Championships, national sportsmanship awards, numerous sectional titles and competed in all the Jr ITF Grand Slams. Dave believes tennis is the best tool to teach life lessons and grow as an individual. |
