Declan HydeTennis ProfessionalDeclan was born in Napa, California and has been playing tennis for over 20 years. He moved to Colorado at the age of 10, where he fully committed himself to the sport and began to train full-time.
In 2011, he went 23-0 his senior year of high school, winning a Colorado State Championship in Men’s Doubles. In 2012, he was inducted into the Colorado Tennis Hall of Fame with the rest of Cheyenne Mountain’s Tennis Team in recognition of their undefeated 2011 season. The following summer, he started coaching at Nike Tennis Camps under his former coach, Dave Adams, who has led Cheyenne Mountain to 29 State Championships since 1987. Declan went to the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he continued his tennis journey. He played #1 and #2 in Men’s Doubles for the University of Colorado Club Tennis Team - ranked #1 in its division and #18 in the country at the time. Declan was also a hitting partner for the Buffaloes NCAA Women’s Tennis Team and helped supervise junior programs for the Meadows Swim & Tennis Club. Declan has a deep love of tennis and has coached nearly every level of the sport, from beginners to NCAA/NAIA players. Off the court, he loves hiking through National Parks and spending time with his nephew, Ezekiel. |
