Oscar GonzalezTennis ProfessionalOscar Gonzalez was born in 1975 in Victorville, California. At 5 years old he moved to Mexico. He began playing tennis at the age of 8 on red clay. At age 10 his family moved to El Paso, Tx where he entered his first tournament. Oscar achieved a number one ranking in his division for 3 years straight in the GEPTA section.
At the age of 15 he moved to Monterrey, Mexico where he started to play the Satellite and Challenger Circuits. By the age of 18 he was top 12 in the country. Oscar attended Laredo Junior College where he won the Rolex National Doubles Tournament in Boca Raton, FL. He then transferred to the University of Incarnate Word were he achieved All American status. Oscar has a passion for developing players of all ages and levels. He moved to Lakes Tennis Academy in October of 99. During this time he was given the opportunity to be Corina Morariu’s hitting partner at the 2002 U.S. Open. Oscar spent two years at Fretz Park as the Assistant Director of the Junior program. In 2004 Oscar returned to the Lakes in order to get involved with all aspects of the program. Oscar and his wife Robin now live in Dallas. They have two amazing children, Ava and Daniel. |
